AutoCorrect is a tool which automatically corrects any spelling or grammar errors by replacing text as you are typing. The most widespread use of this feature is correcting the most common errors such as “adn” instead of “and”, or “teh” instead of “the”. It is also possible to correct grammatical errors, and there is an option to correct capitalisation mistakes.
To see AutoCorrect demonstrated…
Simply type in a sentence, making deliberate mistakes; such as:
'the ship sailed past the pier and into teh open sea.'
The errors should automatically be corrected.
Now try typing in the months without capitalising the first letter. This error is also automatically corrected.
AutoCorrect options…
Move the mouse slowly over the text. Any AutoCorrected text is displayed on a
blue rectangle.

Move the mouse over the rectangle to reveal the AutoCorrect Smart Tag (as you can see, the correction can be undone); click this Smart Tag and scroll down to Control AutoCorrect Options…
A similar window should appear like the one below…

To add entries
Entries can also be added to the dictionary e.g. enter your initials in the Replace box, then enter your full name in the With box. So whenever you enter your initials and press the <Spacebar>, your full name will be entered automatically.
To delete entries
Select Tools| AutoCorrect Options then scroll down and select the entry. Click Delete to remove the entry. Click OK.
